Description
NUAGE is a chair where simplicity and considered details go hand in hand. The soft curves of the seat and back are inspired by the shape of clouds, while the stainless steel gives the chair a transparent, light expression. The steel reflects the light and colours around it, highlighting the chair's form depending on where it stands. NUAGE unites form and materials in a simple design that fits naturally into the home.

NUAGE was developed for Snedkernes Efterårsudstilling (The Cabinetmakers' Autumn Exhibition) 2026 at Ordrupgaard Museum, under the theme “Light & Form”. “Clouds in a multitude of colours play an important role in many of the paintings in Ordrupgaard's French collection. The NUAGE chair, with the soft, quick ‘swing’ of its seat and back, can easily evoke a cloud. The moderately reflective surface of the steel is, in principle, ‘colourless’, but – like clouds and water – it takes on colour from its surroundings and lighting. With its transparent character, the chair barely blocks the view of the rooms' main protagonists: the paintings. The chair's form, character and shadow change markedly with the light it is seen in."
